Are Brazilian campers still being made?Sadly no. Volkswagen of Brazil ceased the manufacture of the T2 due to the introduction of new government vehicle regulations in January 2014. This means the Kombi is becoming rarer and therefore likely to hold/possibly increase in value as years go by.
+
What other names are there for Brazilian campersThese campervans are also known as Kombis, Danburys, Baywindows, BraziBays and T2s.
+
Do your Brazilian Campers come with a MOT?Yes. All of our VW T2s campervans are sold with a new MOT.
+
Do your vans come with a warranty?Yes. All our T2s are sold with a three month parts and labour warranty.
+
Are your campervans serviced?Yes. All our campervans have a full service before they are sold.
+
Do you have low mileage camper vans in stock?Yes. Some of our Kombis have less than 10,000 miles on the clock. As newer models, they tend to be much more reliable than the 1970s variants you may have considered.
+
What kind of MPG can I get out of a Brazilian campervan?Obviously, different vehicles will do different mpg, but it is possible to get over 35 mpg with the watercooled campervans that we sell. The aircooleds can achieve up to 27mpg.
+
What kind of fuel does a Brazilian VW campervan run on?Both the Watercooled and Aircooled models of Brazilian T2 Kombi we sell will run on E10 unleaded petrol. In fact the watercooleds will run on a mixture of up to E85 (85% ethanol.).
+
What about ULEZ compliance? All watercooled Kombis are ULEZ compliant. Some of the later registered aircooled Kombis are too.
+
What's it like to drive a Brazilian campervan?Come and find out for yourself! There are 6 variations when it comes to the steering: left hand drive or right hand drive, standard steering box or Direct Drive rack and pinion, Litesteer or Danbury Power Steering.
+
Can you get a VW T2 Kombi in automatic transmission?Unfortunately no. The Kombi shares the same 4 speed gearbox that was found in the classic VW Beetle. It’s old-school motoring!
+
Does the Kombi have seat belts? From the factory the Kombi has 3 point seat belts for the front seats. The rear seats use lap belts. However these have often been upgraded to 3 point belts and we can offer these as an option if required.
+
What's the top speed of a VW T2 Kombi? Both variants of the Kombi – Aircooled and Watercooled are capable of the UK national speed limit, but most owners/drivers prefer to take the scenic route and cruise along at 55/60mph taking in the view. The journey is as much a part of the holiday as the destination.
+
How much does it cost to insure a Brazilian T2 Camper? The average price our customers seem to pay is somewhere between £300-£400. This is very much dependent on the location of where the Kombi is kept and the age of the youngest driver. We can recommend specialist insurers.
+
Can I use a Brazilian T2 as an everyday vehicle? When the Type 2 was conceived it was designed to work like a station wagon/transporter as the market for MPVs was virtually non-existent. That situation of course has now changed, but the Kombi can still be used as a daily drive due to its dimensions and many of our customers move from a regular car to a Kombi.
+
How long have you been in business? We have been one of the UK’s leading retailers of VW T2s for over 10 years now. We have built a tremendous reputation for selling quality vehicles with enthusiasm and experience of the type.
+
Can I come and see your stock?Of course. If you’re interested in a specific vehicle then please phone ahead to make sure that we haven’t sold it today. We will be more than happy to show you around our VW campervan stock.

+
Can you offer finance?Yes. We work with the long established Close Bros Finance Company. On each individual camper sales page you’ll find a tab for ‘Finance’ – click that and follow the step by step calculator and application.
+

+

On average a Kombi only needs servicing once a year and this can be done in a morning/afternoon. We are a short distance from Brighton and many of our customers visit the city whilst we service their camper.
+
